The core difference
Works when there's no network
Most POS systems are cloud-only: when the internet drops, the shop stops. ShopOS runs everything on your phone first and syncs in the background — so a bad connection never costs you a sale.
Syncs when signal returns
Changes queue locally and sync to the cloud in the background. Stock updates use delta-based writes, so two offline edits never clobber each other.
Your data stays yours
Data is scoped to your shop in security rules — only members of a shop can read it. Shop deletion is admin-only and requires typing the shop name to confirm.
Guest mode, no account
You can use ShopOS fully locally as a guest with no sign-in and no cloud. Add a Google account when you want backups and team access.

7-day trial, 3-day grace
Renewal reminders start 7 days before expiry. If a plan lapses you get a 3-day grace period, and you can cancel to run until the period ends.

Common questions
What happens if I lose internet in the middle of the day?
Nothing stops. Sales, stock edits, expenses and appointments are written to the app on your phone, so the checkout keeps working. Changes queue up and sync automatically once there's signal again.
Do I need a card machine or special hardware?
No. ShopOS is an Android app that runs on the phone or tablet you already own. Payments are cash, M-Pesa Till (Buy Goods) or Pochi La Biashara — there is no card-payment hardware involved.
How do M-Pesa numbers work?
Your Till Number and Pochi La Biashara numbers are stored on the shop profile and shown on receipts and shareable payment reminders, so customers always know where to send money.
Can I use it without creating an account?
Yes. Guest mode runs everything locally with no sign-in and no cloud sync. Sign in with Google when you want cloud backup, multi-device access or to invite your team.
Can I run more than one shop?
Yes. One login can own several shops, each with its own catalog, staff and settings. How many shops are included in your plan is set by the plan itself.
What happens to my data if I delete a shop?
Shop deletion is admin-only, enforced by server-side security rules, and requires typing the shop name to confirm. For individual products you can archive instead of delete, which hides them without destroying sales history.
Is ShopOS available on iPhone?
Not today. ShopOS is an Android app. iOS and web versions are not currently available.
Which devices and languages are supported?
Android phones and tablets, with English interface copy and Ksh as the default currency (other currencies are selectable on the shop profile).
